Marcus Davis delivered the first five-hit game of his career in Alcorn Staate' 15-8 victory over Alabama on Saturday.

Alcorn tallied a double-digit run total for the sixth straight game – all victories – with Saturday’s 15-8 victory over Alabama A&M. The victory completed a three-game sweep and kept Alcorn undefeated in SWAC play.

“It just took us a little while to get going,” said Davis, referring to the Alcorn opening the season with a three-game losing streak. “We’re starting to put it together and play baseball. Once we get rolling, I think we’ll be a pretty tough opponent.”

Davis finished 5-for-6 with three doubles, two runs scored and six RBIs to lead Alcorn.

Davis finished 9-for-14 with three doubles, a triple, a homer and 10 RBIs in the weekend series.

“Today, I saw the ball a little better than I have,” said Davis, a junior college transfer. “I was waiting on the ball and hitting it a little deeper.”
