Alcorn State,
MS---In their last home game of
home game of the season, the Alcorn State Braves took care of business against
the Grambling State Tigers. The Tigers
jumped on the scoreboard early with runs by Brent Smith and Mychal Roby. Josh Brumfield gave the Braves their first
run of the game after getting on by an error on the first baseman.
Alcorn
State took control of the
game with scoring by Jesse Buchanan, Joel Del Grande and Rodney Warren. With three scoreless innings,
Grambling
State regained the lead after scoring
five runs in the seventh inning.
Alcorn
State tied the ballgame
off of a single by Rodney Warren which led to Siron Blount and Jabari Graham
scoring. Grambling thought the deal was
sealed when Justin Kelly hit a homer and drove in two runs but the Braves
scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth and played great defense to defeat
Grambling 13-10. The Braves will wrap up
their regular season against Alabama A&M in
Meridian,
Mississippi on May 10-11, 2008 at
Sykes
Park. The first pitch in Saturday’s doubleheader
will be at 2 p.m.. Sunday’s game will
begin at 12 p.m.
