Braves Make-up Series against Alabama A&M Begins Tomorrow


Alcorn State, MS--Alcorn State Baseball will begin their make-up series against Alabama A&M tomorrow.   The games will be held in Meridian, MS at Sykes Park.  The doubleheader on Saturday will begin at 2 p.m.  On Sunday, first pitch will be at 12 p.m.

Braves down the G-Men in a thriller


Alcorn State, MS---In their last home game of home game of the season, the Alcorn State Braves took care of business against the Grambling State Tigers.  The Tigers jumped on the scoreboard early with runs by Brent Smith and Mychal Roby.  Josh Brumfield gave the Braves their first run of the game after getting on by an error on the first baseman.  Alcorn State took control of the game with scoring by Jesse Buchanan, Joel Del Grande and Rodney Warren.  With three scoreless innings, Grambling State regained the lead after scoring five runs in the seventh inning. Alcorn State tied the ballgame off of a single by Rodney Warren which led to Siron Blount and Jabari Graham scoring.  Grambling thought the deal was sealed when Justin Kelly hit a homer and drove in two runs but the Braves scored six runs in the bottom of the eighth and played great defense to defeat Grambling 13-10.  The Braves will wrap up their regular season against Alabama A&M in Meridian, Mississippi on May 10-11, 2008 at Sykes Park.  The first pitch in Saturday’s doubleheader will be at 2 p.m..  Sunday’s game will begin at 12 p.m.
