Coach Larry Smith and staff hosted their 2010 Basketball Camp which was held at the Davey L. Whitney Complex.  The future possible Alcornites were dropped off on Monday, July 18th and the camp culminated on Friday the 23rd with certificates and trophies being handed out.  The participants were enthusiastic about having simulated a full court game.  "It's been fun and we had a great group of young athletes" said head coach Larry Smith.  "Overall, it was a great camp and I just want to thank all of the parents for sending their kids out to learn the game of basketball."  Congratulations to the Men's Basketball staff and we look forward to next years camp.  The Lady Braves Camp starts on July 26th and runs through the 29th.  For more information, call Coach Edwards at 601.877.6467. 

 

All SWAC 1^st Team Defensive End Malcolm Taylor has been nominated for the Buck Buchannan Award.   The 6-3, 258 pound senior from Brooksville, MS dominated for Alcorn State in 2009, with a total of 66 tackles for the season.  Malcolm had a season high of 3.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss versus Mississippi Valley.
