Alcorn Loses to Mississippi State, 6-2

Starkville, MS--The Braves lost 6-2 in nonconference action against Mississippi State.  The Bulldogs struck early as Frazier scored off a wild pitch.

Mississippi State added two runs in the third inning as Frazier and Jones scored.

The Braves caught a break in the fourth inning scoring a pair of runs by Darryl Parks and Rodney Warren.  Mississippi State's Fullerton scored in the home half of the sixth inning as Frost doubled to right center to push score to 4-2.

The Braves could not get things going to rally back in the game as the Bulldogs scored their final two runs in the eigth inning to defeat Alcorn 6-2.

Alcorn State had six hits on the day while Mississippi State had seven hits.

Cedric Pomerlee recorded the loss for the Braves as Cox picked up the win for the Bulldogs. 

The Braves will return to action tomorrow as they travel to Hammond, Louisiana to face the Lions of Southeastern Louisiana University.  First pitch is set for 6 PM.
