Alcorn State Falls to Southeastern Louisiana, 12-3

Hammond, LA--The Braves dropped its mid-week contest to the Lions of Southeastern Louisiana by a score of 12-3.
After a scoreless first inning for both teams, Angel Rosa homered to left field to score the Braves only run of the second inning.  Southeastern answered back with Pace scoring off a walk and Gougler scoring as Hoffman ground out to the shortstop. 

Both teams would go scoreless in the third inning as the Lions had only a one run lead over Alcorn State.  The Lions continued to dominate in the fourth inning scoring three runs by Downing, Slade and Hoffman which were all unearned.  The Braves remained scoreless for the next three innings while Southeastern scored four runs to build their lead up to 9-1 over Alcorn. 

Alcorn State picked up two runs in the eighth inning as Angel Rosa homered for the second time during the game and drove in Joshua Powell.  Southeastern scored their final three runs in the bottom of the eighth as they defeated Alcorn 12-3. 

Bernard recorded the win for the Lions while Harrison Gary picked up the loss for Alcorn State.

Alcorn State will return to action this weekend series against conference rival Alabama State.
