ALCORN STATE, MS - The Alcorn State football team practiced on Monday morning as a complete unit. The Braves worked for two hours in shorts and shells on day five at the Davey Whitney Athletic Complex Practice Facility.
Alcorn enters the season ranked fourth in the Eastern Division after finishing last season's campaign with a 2-8 record. However, the 2012 team is a new unit who is determined to establish an identity of its own.
"The first couple of practices are always exciting," Alcorn senior wide receiver
Terrance Lewis said. "We get to create and establish our identity again, and that is something very important to us. This is a different team than last year, so every day we hit the field gives us an opportunity to redefine who we are and who our opponents will see us as."
Alcorn's Football Media Day will be August 18, 2012 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the Davey Whitey Health, Physical Education and Recreation Complex. Following team practice, student-athletes and coaches will be available for autographs during a 60-minute session on the floor of the basketball arena. Shortly thereafter, the floor will be opened to the media for interviews. Fans may enter the stadium beginning at 5:30 p.m.
