2010 SWAC Tennis Championships Day 2

Defending 2009 champions Jackson State overcame Alabama A&M 4-1 to secure a place in the championship match and ensure another run at a consecutive title. The Lady Tigers will take on Southern, who defeated Alcorn State 4-0 to claim its spot in the title match. The match-up will be a meeting of the tournament’s two #1 seeds and is slated for Sunday at 9 a.m. Southern defeated Jackson State 4-0 earlier this season.

In men’s action, defending ‘09 champs Alcorn State took down Grambling State 4-1 while Prairie View A&M upset Arkansas-Pine Bluff 4-2. The #1 Braves will face off with the #3 Panthers in tomorrow’s championship match. PV defeated Alcorn State 4-3 earlier in the year.

Due to the threat of inclement weather in the Alexandria area on Sunday afternoon, the men’s championship match will be played at 9 a.m. Both the men’s and women’s title matches will take place at the Alexandria City Park Tennis Facility.
