Braves report for Fall Camp

Alcorn State, MS—With exactly a month away from the Braves first contest, Head Coach Melvin Spears, Jr., welcomed nearly 90 players to campus.
On Thursday, August 4th, players will participate in helmet only drills. The Braves will hold nineteen practices prior to the beginning of the 2011 Fall Semester.

“We are excited to begin the Melvin Spears' coaching era,” stated Spears. “We are blessed to carry on the legacy of Coach Marino Casem and the great players of Alcorn State University. The players bought into what we wanted to do. Also, the strength and conditioning coach did an excellent job with the players this summer,” said Spears.

Practices will be open to the public. However, photography, video or cell phone use is prohibited during practice and fans must remain clear off the field.
