Box Score Lorman, MS-Once again the Braves lose focus in the second half and Detroit took advantage of the game and never looked back. Detroit (7-5) shot 61.5% from the field in the second half to edge the Braves 74-58.
The Braves came out red hot in the first half. Senior forward
Ian Francis scored 11 of his 13 points in the first half. Francis scored all of his in the paint by taking it to the Detroit defense. The Braves would lead by as many as six points before the Titans took charge of the game. Jason Calliste scored the final eight points of first period by knocking two 3-pointers and a pair of free throws to carry the Titans into the locker room with a 33-27 lead.
Detroit's leading scorer, Ray McCallum, picked up where Calliste left off by extending the Titans lead to 47-27. The Braves went an entire seven minutes without a basket until Junior
Stephane Raquil hit a layup at the 15:12 mark in the second half but the damage was already done by the visiting Titans.
McCallum scored 17 second half points to lead the Titans with a game-high 19 points. Four other players scored in double figures for the Titans with Doug Anderson and Nick Minnerath scoring 15 and 13 points, respectively. Juwan Howard, Jr. and Calliste both chipped in 12 points each.
Anthony Nieves and Francis both finished the game with 13 points and Leantwan Luckett added 11.
The Braves are back in action Friday, Dec. 21 as they begin a four-game road trip in California as they take on Santa Clara in their holiday tournament. Tip-off is at 6:15 p.m.
