RUSTON, La. – Alcorn State battled throughout but could not overcome a hot-shooting Louisiana Tech squad on Saturday afternoon, falling 83-58 at the Thomas Assembly Center. The Braves moved to 1-8 on the season.
Alcorn was led by Tycen McDaniels, who finished with 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting and added three rebounds and four assists. Shane Lancaster provided seven points, including a pair of first-half three-pointers, while Jameel Morris added six points, six rebounds, and three assists. Omari Hamilton contributed eight points and three boards, and Nick Woodard totaled five points, three rebounds, and three steals.
Louisiana Tech set the tone early, building a 37-30 halftime advantage before using a 46-point second half to pull away. The Bulldogs shot 53 percent from the field and 38 percent from deep, countering Alcorn's ability to generate paint touches and second-chance opportunities.
The Braves collected 33 total rebounds, including 16 offensive boards, and received 21 points from the bench. Davian Williams chipped in nine points and two rebounds, while Travis Roberts and Mike Jones each scored four.
Alcorn returns to action on Tuesday, December 3, traveling to Ames for a matchup against Iowa State.
