ALCORN STATE, MS --The Alcorn State men's and women's cross country teams return to action this Friday, October 5 after taking a week off. They will compete in the Mississippi College Watson Ford Invitational at Choctaw Trails in Clinton, MS. Both teams last outing was at Southern Miss where they placed amongst the best of the best.
“We have now entered the second half of the season; the coaching staff and I felt that our kids needed a break after three straight meets,” stated head coach Herman Williamson. “Some of our kids were battling some minor injuries and we needed the week off to treat those injuries and tweak our running strategies.”
With the SWAC Championships slowly approaching at Choctaw Trails on October 29; the Braves and Lady Braves will have a chance to run the course to get a sense of how to approach the course on the day of the championships.
The women's race will kick off at 4:30 p.m. followed by the men at 5:15 p.m.
