What is BRAVES Student-Athlete Advisory Committee?
The BRAVES Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a leadership group composed of two or more representatives from each Alcorn State University athletic team. SAAC meets monthly to discuss topics and propose solutions related to academics, athletics, and the overall well-being of student-athletes at Alcorn.

In addition to serving as the voice of student-athletes, SAAC organizes a variety of CHAMPS Life Skills initiatives focused on community service, career readiness, personal development, and the promotion of academic and athletic excellence.

BRAVES SAAC also maintains open communication with the Athletic Academic Support Office, the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), and the NCAA, ensuring student-athletes are informed and involved in decisions that impact their collegiate experience.

BRAVES SAAC Vision Statement
To cultivate a unified community of student-athletes who exemplify leadership, integrity, and excellence—empowered to impact campus, conference, and community through service, advocacy, and personal growth. BRAVES SAAC strives to elevate the student-athlete voice and enhance the Alcorn experience through purposeful engagement and championship character.
