Georgia Tech Too Much for Lady Braves

Box Score Atlanta, GA-Georgia Tech had a huge second-half to put the Lady Braves away defeating them 76-49 this afternoon at McCamish Pavilion. It wasn't turnovers that hurt the Lady Braves against Georgia Tech. As a team the Lady Braves shot 30% from the floor and gave up 46 points in the paint.

In the first half, the Lady Braves got off to a great start by staying in the game in the opening minutes, trading baskets with the Yellowjackets. Yellowjackets' Dawnn Maye started a 19-3 run at the 12:38 on a fastbreak layup mark which stretched the score to 30-14. Led by Carolinisa Crumbly, the Lady Braves ended the first half on a 8-3 run to cut the lead to 33-22 going into the locker room.

The Yellowjackets came out in the second half and put on a rebounding clinic by outrebounding the Lady Braves 33-6. Tyaunna Marshall scored 13 points in the second half to help open up the lead for the Yellowjackets and they never looked back.

Crumbly played one of her best all-around games of the season leading the Lady Braves with 17 points and was the only Lady Brave to score in double figures. She also grabbed five rebounds, had six steals and two blocks.

Georgia Tech's Marshall finished the game with 28 points and Maye picked up a double-double scoring 12 points and dishing out 10 assists.

The Lady Braves return to action on Friday, Dec. 21 hosting the Lady Lions from Southeastern Louisiana. Tip-off is at 12 noon.
