Daytona Beach, FL--The Lady Braves lost 3-0 in seven innings at Salem on Friday, despite outhitting Bethune Cookman five to four.
Michelle Banuelos-smith was steady at the plate for Bethune Cookman Banuelos-Smith went 2-3 and scored one run. Banuelos-smith doubled in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Bethune Cookman's Shanel Tolbert kept Alcorn State off the scoreboard for all seven innings she toed the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on five hits while striking out four.
Bethune Cookman didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the second inning when it scored on a sacrifice fly by Karina Romero.
