Box Score Lake Charles, La.-The Alcorn State Lady Braves softball team opened their 2013 campaign tonight at the McNeese State Cowgirl Classic. The Lady Braves were defeated on the first day of the classic in five innings by Louisiana Tech, 8-0.
Louisiana Tech jumped out to an early 1-0 run in the 1st inning on a double by Erin Kipp which scored Amanda Krueger from second to home.
The Lady Techsters scored seven runs between the 3rd and 4th innings to extend their lead to 8-0 which pretty much summed up the game.
The Lady Braves were held to only two hits for the game by
Chamara Moore and
Hannah Vesper.
Krueger scored three runs and recorded 3 RBIs to lead the Lady Techsters.
The Lady Braves (0-1) return to action tomorrow as they face Houston Baptist at noon.
