Box Score 2 The Alcorn State Lady Braves softball team played their first home game against Kentucky State this afternoon. The Lady Braves were trying to bounce back from an 0-5 opening weekend at the McNeese Cowgirl Classic.
Kentucky State 5, Lady Braves 4
In the first game, the Lady Thorobreds jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning. But later in the bottom of the fourth,
Brianna Bishop hit a shot to right field to score three runs and take a 4-2 lead.
Kentucky State had the last word knocking in three runs in the sixth and seventh innings to take the first game.
Lady Braves 7, Kentucky State 0
The Lady Braves dominated the Lady Thorobreds in game two shutting the Lady Thorobreds out 7-0 to pick up their first win of the season.
Next up for the Lady Braves (1-6) is a matchup against Northwestern State at home. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. Game two will follow immediately after game one.
