Box Score 2 Montgomery, Ala.-After a devastating display in Friday night's 13-2 loss to Alabama State, the Lady Braves softball team came in Saturday and played a little better but it wasn't enough to sustain the Lady Hornets. The Lady Hornets defeated Lady Braves 12-4 and 4-0 to complete the weekend series sweep.
Game 1
The Lady Braves allowed the Lady Hornets to open up the game with three runs in the first and second innings to take a 6-0 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Lady Hornets came back and scored another run but the Lady Braves picked up four runs in the top of the fifth.
Rayven Riggs scored on an error.
Samantha Martinez hit a 2RBI single down the right field line to score

Alexandra Harris.
Racquel Burdette single to left center field to bring in
Hannah Vesper. The Lady Braves had cut into the Lady Hornets lead, 7-4.
But the Lady Hornets stop the Lady Braves rally by scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take game one 12-4.
O'Leary and Riggs both finished with two hits and one run scored.
Game 2
The Lady Braves picked up the slack in game two. Both teams were scoreless in throughout the entire game until the Lady Hornets knocked in four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
A few mistakes in the bottom of the sixth inning allowed the Lady Hornets to move runners from one base to the next. Then a triple by one of the Lady Hornets batters scored two runs. A double by Patt scored another run and the Lady Braves couldn't manage to buy a run in the seventh inning.
The Lady Braves (7-33, 0-10) are back in action this week as they host Grambling on Tuesday for a makeup game. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
