Box Score 3 Huntsville, Ala.-Head coach Jessica Harris knew going into this weekend that her team needed to sweep Alabama A&M in order for them to conceal a spot in the SWAC Tournament. Well, the Lady Braves stepped up to the plate and delivered with a weekend sweep over the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Braves took game one and game two on Saturday, 9-2 and 5-2. On Sunday, the Lady Braves fought hard and came out with the victory over A&M 5-4 in game three.
Senior pitcher Deanna Rancillio pitched in all three games to lead the Lady Braves. Rancillio threw approximately 280 pitches and picked up her fourth straight win for the week.
In game three,
Breanna O'Leary hit a RBI double to give the Lady Braves a 1-0 lead.
Ilene Suleymanyan grounded out to the pitcher but Briana Bishop scored to add on to the lead and make the score 2-0. O'Leary found her way home on a wild pitch and the Lady Braves were ahead 3-0 after the top of the 2nd inning
A&M scored a run in the bottom of the 2nd inning to cut the lead to 3-1.

Alexandra Harris and
Hannah Vesper increasing the Lady Braves lead to 5-1 but A&M wasn't done yet.
The Lady Bulldogs scored a run in the 4th inning and tried to rally in the 6th inning but the Lady Braves played solid defense to solidify the win 5-4.
With the sweep, the Lady Braves move to 11-33 overall and 4-10 in SWAC play. They also secured the No.4 seed in the Eastern Division heading into the SWAC Tournament.
Next up for the Lady Braves is a showdown with Mississippi Valley for their home finale. Game one will be Friday at 2 p.m. Game two is set for Saturday at noon with game three to follow.
