Lady Braves Swept by Jackson State in Weekend Series

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Lorman, Miss.-The Alcorn State softball team battled hard this afternoon against SWAC rival Jackson State but it wasn't enough to sustain the Lady Tigers defense.  The Lady Braves suffered their third straight loss and seventh conference loss to the Lady Tigers, 4-1.

The Lady Tigers got on the scoreboard first on an error by the Lady Braves to take a 1-0 lead.  The Lady Tigers would score two more runs in the top of the fourth inning two RBI single by Jasmine Warren to give the Lady Tigers a 3-0 lead.

The Lady Tigers added another run in the top of the sixth inning taking a 4-0 lead.

The Lady Braves were held scoreless unitl the bottom of the sixth inning when Rayven Riggs scored on a sacrifice fly by Briana Bishop cutting the lead to 4-1 but that would be the only run the Lady Braves could manage.

The Lady Braves move to 7-28 on the season and 0-7 in SWAC play as they prepare to travel Hammond, La. to face Southeastern Louisiana before another SWAC weekend series against Alabama State next weekend.
