Top 50 Greatest Players: No. 49, Tracy Cook

Coming in at No. 49 is a local guy from Fayette, MS who made a name for himself as one of the best tight ends to ever play at Alcorn State.  Tracy Cook enrolled at Alcorn in 1990 and became an immediate threat at the tight end position.  Despite having amazing hands and footwork, Cook could block better than most offensive lineman in the SWAC.

He didn't see much action his freshman season but put up some huge numbers during his sophomore campaign in 1991.  Cook caught 15 passes for 323 yards and scored two touchdowns to help the Braves finish 2nd in the SWAC standings with a 7-2-1 record.

In 1992, he reeled in eight catches for 246 yards and scored one touchdown.  The Braves won the 1992 SWAC Championship posting a 7-0 undefeated record and earned a spot in the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs.

Cook recorded career-high's during his senior season in 1993.  He caught a career-high 22 passes for 357 yards and one touchdown in all 11 games.  He became the only tight end in Alcorn history to catch over 200 yards and at least one touchdown in three consecutive seasons at the position.  His performance in 1993 earned him a spot on the All-SWAC 1st Team Offense.

He ended his career with a total of 45 catches for 926 yards and four touchdowns.
