Top 50 Greatest Players: No. 46, Michael Andrews

Another product of "Deep Back University" comes in at the no. 46 spot in the Top 50 Greatest Players in Alcorn Football History.  Michael Andrews posted two solid years as a Brave at the defensive back position.  Known for his speed and ability to cover, Andrews performance in the late 80's gained recognition from NFL scouts.

His best seasons were in 1987 and 1988.  In 1987, Andrews started for the Braves in all nine games and intercepted six passes and recorded eight pass break-ups.  To go along with those impressive stats, he also recorded 39 tackles and one tackle for a loss.  He earned All-SWAC 2nd Team Defensive honors during that season.

He only played in six games in 1988 due to an injury, but still led the team with a career-high 14 pass break-ups and three interceptions.  He also registered 19 tackles.  Imagine if he would've played the entire season.

Despite the injury, he still managed to earn a slot and 1989 NFL Draft where he was picked up by the Buffalo Bills.
