Top 50 Greatest Football Players: No. 38, Milton Mack

The no. 38 spot in the Top 50 Greatest Players in Alcorn Football History belongs to another stud from "DBU," Milton Mack.  A native of the state capitol, Jackson, Miss. and product of Callaway High School, Mack was a member of the Braves football team from 1983 to 1986.  He gained national attention for his play at the defensive back position in his final years as a Brave.

In 1984, Mack was part of the Braves SWAC Championship team who went undefeated.  He posted 14 tackles, six pass deflections, and intercepted his only pass in the Braves most memorable game that season vs. Mississippi Valley State.

His junior season in 1985, Mack earned 2nd Team All-SWAC Defensive honors after recording 31 tackles, nine pass deflections, and four interceptions.

Mack's final year in 1986 proved he was one of the best defensive backs in the SWAC and the country recording 36 tackles, nine pass deflections, and five interceptions.  Mack's performance earned him a spot on the 1st Team All-SWAC Defense.

Mack was drafted in 1987 by New Orleans Saints.
