Softball: Lady Braves Drop a Pair on Day Two of the Tangi Tourism Classic

Lady Braves wrap up day two with two losses against UT-Martin and Nicholls State

The Alcorn State softball team was back in action today on day two of the Tangi Tourism Classic against UT-Martin and Nicholls State.

Game 1:  Lady Braves 0, UT-Martin 9 (5 innings)
UT Martin scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning to give the Lady Braves a deep whole to dig out of early in game one.  

Sametria Collins earned the Lady Braves only hit of the game while Jazmin Castillo picked up her second loss of the season.

Game 2:  Lady Braves 1, Nicholls State 6 
Collins picked up another hit on a single to score Jordenne Taylor for the Lady Braves lone run of the game.

Nicholls State scored two runs in the first inning and exploded for four runs in the third inning to hand the Lady Braves their fourth loss of the season.

The final day of the Tangi Toursim Classic ends tomorrow with the Lady Braves facing Nebraska-Omaha at noon.
