Alcorn State dominates Alabama State 31-14

Montgomery, Ala. – Alcorn State University used tough defense and efficient offense to defeat Alabama State, 31-14, at the New ASU Stadium on Saturday night.

How It Happened
 
Offense:

 
  • Alcorn State's first drive stalled after five plays.
  • Alabama State took their first drive 70 yards down the field, in six plays. The Hornets capped it off with an E. Richardson, 37 yard rushing touchdown.
  • The Braves, quickly responded in their next possession marching 90 yards in 14 plays, ending with a Darryl Ragsdale two-yard rushing touchdown.
  • Alcorn State held the ball for 6:12, during the scoring drive.
  • Alabama State took the lead in their next possession going 76 yards in 12 plays, capping it with a K. Thomas seven-yard rushing touchdown.
  • Once again, the Braves were pinned deep in their own territory. Alcorn State drove 86 yards in 13 plays, ending with a JOHN GIBBS JR. three yard touchdown.
