PEARL, Miss. – The Alcorn State University men's golf team tallied its second consecutive 300 to be crowned team champions as both golf squads wrapped up play at the Alcorn State Invitational Tuesday on Patrick Farms Golf Club
The men's total score of 600 topped second-place Belhaven by 17 strokes.
Belhaven's Zachary Warden was crowned the men's individual medalist after shooting a second-round 71 that kept his score the lowest at 141 (-3).
The All-Invitational team featured three Braves, juniors
Daniel Stamper and
Jon Allen and freshman
Spencer Rhodes. Rhodes and Stamper each posted second-round 72s while Allen shot a 78 that set him back to fifth place. Rhodes' 72 marked his lowest round this season.
Junior
Daniel Racioppa and freshman
Kelton Mills shot 155 and 161, respectively. Mills' 78 in the second round was a five-stroke improvement from the opening round.

Jackson State swept the women's team and individual awards. The Lady Tigers shot a total team score of 702. The Lady Braves team score totaled 812.
JSU's trio of Keelin Floyd (163), Makalia Brown (166) and Tasita Garcia (169) comprised the All-Invitational Team with Floyd being crowned the individual medalist.
The Lady Braves, however, held the next three places. Juniors
Quinn Meyer (178) and
Abrea Grant (180) and freshman
Erin Kopinak (181) placed fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. Grant and Kopinak each shot 89s in the second round, tying for the third best individual scores of the day. Junior
Daii Gardner rounded out the team with a 273.
