GULF SHORES, Ala. - The Alcorn State University men's golf program secured the team title for the second consecutive week as the Braves and Lady Braves concluded play Tuesday at the Gulf Shores Intercollegiate on the Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club.
The Braves were fronted by junior Daniel Racioppa's 72 in the final round to seal the victory. Freshman Spencer Rhodes put together his most consistent 54-hole score of the season with a first-round 75 followed by two 77s which placed him third overall.
Junior Daniel Stamper also shot two 77s but ended one stroke behind Rhodes in a two-way tie for fourth after a second-round 76. Junior Jon Allen rounded out the squad with a 29-over 245.
The Braves outperformed Southwestern Athletic Conference foes Alabama State, Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern.
