BUCHANAN, Tenn. - The Alcorn State University men's golf team shot its second 299 of the Skyhawk Classic to jump two spots in the leaderboard for a seventh-place finish at Parish Landing Golf Course Tuesday.
Alcorn also shot a 17-over 305 in the second round for a final score of 39-over.
Junior Daniel Stamper spearheaded the Braves for the second consecutive week, carding a 3-over 219 which was good enough for a six-way tie for 10th. He recorded Alcorn's lowest 18-hole total of the event, a 1-under 71 second round.
Fellow junior Daniel Racioppa started the day in a tie for 14th but dipped into a two-way tie for 26th after a 6-over 78 in the final round.
Freshman Kelton Mills ended the tournament by shooting an even 72 which lifted him from 48th to a four-way tie for 33rd.
Freshman Spencer Rhodes and junior Jon Allen rounded out the squad with a 233 (+17) and 248 (+32), respectively.
