Alcorn falls at NSU in softball doubleheader

NACHITOCHES, La. -- The Alcorn State University Lady Braves softball team fell to Northwestern State University in doubleheader action on Wednesday, Feb. 17. In game one, the Lady Braves fell 8-0, followed by an 18-3 loss. The Lady Braves fall to 2-2 overall on the season.

Game One (NSU 8, Alcorn 0)
The Lady Braves were blanked by Northwestern State in five innings.

Game Two (NSU 18, Alcorn 3)
Junior pitcher JAZMIN CASTILLO (1-1) took the loss for Alcorn, allowing 15 hits and 13 runs in four innings.
Senior SAMETRIA COLLINS, junior CATHERINE GORE and junior ADRIANA GUTIERREZ each collected one hit, respectively. Sophomore TAYLOR HUGHES recorded on RBI off of a single to center field in the fifth inning.

ON DECK
The Lady Braves travel to Beaumont, Texas to play in the Lamar University Tournament on Friday, Feb. 19. In their first game of tournament play the Lady Braves will face the University of Northern Colorado at 10 a.m. Friday.
