ALEXANDRIA, La. – The Alcorn State University men's program dropped a doubleheader to LSU on Sunday 7-0 and 4-0, while the women's team came up on the short-end of a 5-2 result against an undefeated LSU-Alexandria squad on Tuesday.

At the LSU Tennis Complex, the Braves (4-15, 2-1 SWAC) were winning in a pair of singles matches that went unfinished. Senior
Nikita Kostikov held a 6-2, 2-1 edge at No. 2 singles over Agie Moreno from LSU (5-9) when play was halted. Senior
Nischay Rawal was also up 6-2, 2-3 when it ended.

The Lady Braves (4-11, 2-2 SWAC) picked up a pair of wins against the Generals (6-0) at the Alexandria City Courts. Freshman
Anastasia Vaganova had a big day which started with an 8-5 victory at No. 2 doubles with sophomore
Bianca Birkenstock. Vaganova followed it up with a 4-6, 6-2, 10-4 win at No. 5 singles over Paula Gordillo.

Daria Chemodanova was up a set 7-6, 3-5 at No. 1 singles when the Generals clinched. Sophomore
Marlene Maier put up a fight at No. 6 singles but was ousted in a third-set tiebreaker 10-4.

Both the Alcorn men and women will be back in action this weekend in the second SWAC Round-Up in Montgomery, Alabama. The schedule will be announced by the league office in the upcoming days.
