COLLEGE GROVE, Tenn. –  Junior Daniel Racioppa from the Alcorn State University golf program wrapped up NCAA Regionals with a 274 score over three days at The Grove Club, hosted by Middle Tennessee State University.

Racioppa shot a 96 on the final day after carding an 85 on day one and 93 on day two. He was the first Alcorn golfer to ever play at NCAA Regionals.

"I didn't perform the way that I hoped coming in, but it was an invaluable experience for me nonetheless," Racioppa said. "My goal for next year is to return here with the team and make a run for the NCAA Championships."

On the final day, Racioppa birdied the 15th hole on a par three. He sandwiched it with pars on the 14th and 16th holes.

"I was extremely impressed with the way Daniel carried himself over the last three days. He proudly represented our University and our conference," said Alcorn head coach Danny Forshey. "Daniel earned the right to play among the nation's elite group of student-athletes in this tournament, and this incredible experience will only make him stronger moving forward."

Racioppa, from Mount Albert, Ontario, Canada, earned an invitation to the tournament after winning the 2017 SWAC Championships. He was one of 10 individuals to earn a bid to the College Grove Regional along with 13 schools.
