TAMPA, Fla. – The Alcorn State University men's and women's track and field programs are sending Bralon Robinson and Euricka Hardy to the 2018 NCAA Outdoor East Preliminary Championships, hosted May 24-26 by the University of South Florida and the Tampa Bay Sport Commission at the USF Track & Field Stadium.

For the Braves, Robinson captured the SWAC men's 100-meter dash title as he ran a 10.331 to edge the Jackson State sprinter (10.338). The freshman out of Canton, Miss. turned in a 10.315 to finish third in the event at the UL-Lafayette Louisiana Classic on March 17, but the wind factor was too high for the time to qualify.

Hardy will represent the Lady Braves. The senior from Oma, Miss. qualified for regionals in the 100-meters after turning in a season-best 11.41 to earn a silver medal at the SWAC Championships.

"I am extremely proud of both Euricka and Bralon," said head coach Brian Johnson. "They have done an amazing job this year representing Alcorn State Track and Field."

The 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held June 6-9 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
