LORMAN, Miss. – The Alcorn State University men's and women's track teams will participate in its second-to-last regular season meet of their outdoor seasons on Saturday as it makes its way to Bernie Moore Stadium for the LSU Alumni Gold Meet.
There will be 28 other schools competing with Alcorn including LSU (host), Alabama A&M, Arkansas (Women), Clemson, Coahoma, Florida, Grambling State, Harvard, Hinds CC, Jackson State, Louisiana Tech, McNeese, Meridian, Mississippi College, Mississippi State, New Orleans, Nicholls, North Carolina A&T, Northwestern State, Southeastern, Southern, Southern-New Orleans, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas State, Tulane, Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana-Monroe.
Along with the colleges listed above, the Canadian National Team Relays and numerous professional athletes will also be competing in the events.

The running events will be broken down into a morning and afternoon session while the field events will all remain in the same category. The field events will get underway with the women's discus at 9 a.m., the morning portion of the running events start the meet off with the 3000 steeplechase at 8:45 a.m. and the afternoon session kicks off around 2 p.m. with the 4x100 meter relays.

The Braves and Lady Braves previously competed at the UCA Open hosted by the University of Central Arkansas.
Last time out for the Lady Braves, junior
Shaquanda Hill and freshman
Kiana Allen each won their respective events as Hill outran everyone in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:31.14 to go along with Allen finishing in first in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 5.24 meters.
Juniors
Candace Baity and
Justice Edwards both performed admirably in the 100-meter hurdles as Baity won her heat while Edwards had a top-five finish with times of 16.09 and 15.92, respectively.
Freshman
Mya Greene placed inside the top-three in two events at UCA, earning a second-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (15.09) and third in the long jump (5.20m) with both being personal-bests.
Senior
Angelica Jacobs also bested her previous low mark with a 19:19.80 showing in the 5000-meter dash.

Courtney Parhm and juniorÂ
Shameka Grover all logged top-three placements in their events. Gates finished just behind Hill with a second-place finish in the 800-meters (2:34.47), Parhm got second in the discus as she threw a 28.30, and Grover came in third as she sprinted for a time of 12.40 in the 100-meter dash.
The Braves competitors saw sophomore
Bralon Robinson post the highest placement among his teammates, coming in second place in the 100-meter dash with an 11.04.
Along with Robinson, sophomore
Josias Jean and junior
Quantavious Gordon each fared well in the 400 meters as the duo finished in third and fourth place, respectively, with times of 50.86 and 51.84.
