LORMAN, Miss. – Just six weeks from competition, the Alcorn State University men's and women's cross country programs will kickoff the 2019 campaign at the Mississippi College Opener.

The Braves and Lady Braves will be competing in five regular season meets in addition to the SWAC Championships. Alcorn will compete in three different states.

The season begins Friday, Aug. 30 when Alcorn makes the short trip north to Clinton, Mississippi. The Braves and Lady Braves will then head to Louisiana for three straight meets at the Southern Invitational on Sept. 7, the Allstate Sugar Bowl X Cross Country Festival on Sept. 14 and the McNeese Cowboy Stampede on Sept. 28.

Alcorn will close out the regular season on Friday, Oct. 11 when it races in the Lois Davis Invitational, hosted by Southern Arkansas.

The 2019 SWAC Championships are slated for Monday, Oct. 21 at 9 a.m. at the Choctaw Trails in Clinton, Mississippi.
