LORMAN, Miss. – The Alcorn State University men's tennis program will be in action Thursday when it welcomes Jacksonville State at 12 p.m. at the Alcorn Tennis Courts.

The Braves have been strong at the top this year. Senior
Gjorgji Popovski is on a three-match winning-streak at No. 1 singles and 4-3 overall. He has victories over Eastern Illinois, Florida A&M, Southern Miss and Nicholls.

Also with a winning record on the season is freshman
Lucas Dini. He has wins over EIU and FAMU, and went three sets at LSU. Alcorn defeated FAMU 4-0 as a team.

Rounding out the Braves lineup will be junior
Stojan Stojanovski, a two-time All-Conference selection, and sophomores
Kareem Bowe and
Santiago Rocca.

Jacksonville State has only played one match this year with a 5-1 win over West Alabama. The Gamecocks will face Mississippi Valley State on Wednesday before heading to Lorman. The team finished 13-7 overall and 4-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference last season.

The Alcorn women's team will take the court Saturday in a 2 p.m. road match at South Alabama.
