LORMAN, Miss. – Despite a pair of very close singles matches, the Alcorn State University men's tennis program dropped a 7-0 decision to Jacksonville State on Thursday at the Alcorn Tennis Courts.

At the top, senior
Gjorgji Popovski got off to a hot start, but was edged at No. 1 singles by Guillermo Agost 2-6, 6-3, 10-1. Popovski saw his three-match winning-streak come to a close, but is still 4-4 on the season at the top court.

Another tight one came at No. 3 singles where sophomore
Santiago Rocca dropped a nail-biter to Thomas Norwood 3-6, 6-1, 10-5.

The Braves were without freshman
Lucas Dini due to injury.

Alcorn will be back it at it on Wednesday when it travels to New Orleans for a 2 p.m. start. The women's team will take the court Saturday at 2 p.m. in a road match at South Alabama.
