LORMAN, Miss. – Junior transfer
Austin Bolton from the Alcorn State University football program earned a spot on the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Team for the College Division.

Bolton was enrolled at Alcorn in the spring and carries a cumulative 3.82 grade point average. He's majoring in sports management.

A running back from Poplarville, Mississippi, Bolton led Mississippi Gulf Coast CC to an NJCAA National Championship with a perfect 12-0 record. He rushed for 841 yards, 13 touchdowns and no fumbles on the season.

He was named Most Valuable Player of the Bulldogs' 24-13 win over Lackawanna in the national championship game, and ran 30 times for 116 yards and the game-winning touchdown in the MACJC championship game.  Â
In high school, Bolton rushed for 2,300 yards and 30 touchdowns his senior year at Poplarville HS. He earned spots on the Mississippi Association of Coaches Class 4A All-State First Team and Sun Herald All-South Mississippi Team. Bolton was selected to play in Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star Classic. As a junior, he ran 196 times for 1,746 yards and 21 touchdowns, and helped lead Poplaville to the Class 4A state championship game.
Bolton has two years of eligibility remaining at Alcorn.
