Braves Receiving Votes in Preseason Stats Perform FCS Poll

LORMAN, Miss. – STATS Perform FCS released its 2020 FCS Preseason Top-25, and the Alcorn State University football program received 22 votes.

The Braves were the only team from the SWAC to be mentioned.

STATS Perform FCS will not be running a weekly poll in the fall, but wanted to project "where the season might have headed if most conferences and schools hadn't postponed their fall season due to the COVID-19 pandemic."

It marked the third preseason poll where the Braves received recognition as they were ranked No. 27 in the College Football America Yearbook FCS Top-30, and also received votes in the HERO Sports FCS Top-25.

Alcorn released its 2021 spring schedule on August 17, which included six conference games. The Braves are slated to open the season at Alabama A&M on February 27, 2021.

The Braves are the two-time defending SWAC Champions and six-time reigning SWAC East Division champions. Alcorn is on a 10-game home winning-streak, which is the fifth-longest streak in FCS.
