LORMAN, Miss. – For the third time this preseason, senior
Qwynnterrio Cole from the Alcorn State University football program was honored as a Preseason All-American as he was named to the Third-Team by Stats Perform FCS.
The Memphis, Tennessee product was previously named to the Phil Steele Preseason FCS Fourth-Team, and the College Sports Journal FCS All-America Team.
Cole led the Braves in interceptions last season with five, which ranked second in the SWAC. He shined in the SWAC Championship game with 10 tackles against Southern. Cole wrapped-up 86 tackles on the season.
In 2018, Cole earned a spot on the HERO Sports Sophomore All-America Team after leading the Braves in tackles with 77. He also recorded three interceptions, 4.5 tackles for a loss, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery that season.
In his career, Cole is a two-time HBCU All-America and two-time SWAC All-Conference First-Team honoree in 2018 and 2019.
