Game 1: Western Kentucky 7, Alcorn 0
WKU was held scoreless in the second, fifth and seventh innings but its four-run first put the Purple and Gold in an early hole that it could not dig out of.
This was the first ever meeting between the two softball programs so Western Kentucky gets the advantage to begin the series.
