GULFPORT, Miss. – Following a spirited run to the SWAC Championship Game,
Chloey Morgan,
Ambria Dorsey,
Marsha Hunt and
Amari Ramsey were all selected to the SWAC All-Tournament Team.
Morgan scored a team-high eight runs while tying for the lead in hits (8) to go along with five RBIs, two triples, two walks and a double on top of superb defense in centerfield plus a steal of home plate.
Â
Dorsey pitched 18.0 innings to the tune of a 2.00 ERA and a record of 2-1 including two complete game performances. The fifth-year senior only allowed four earned runs while whiffing five hitters and even contributed two hits at the plate as well.
Â
Hunt reached base 11 times over the course of the six games played by the Lady Braves, smacking eight hits and coaxing three free passes. Exactly half of her hits went for extra bases (four doubles) while plating a tied for team-best five runs, same as fellow All-Tournament selection
Chloey Morgan.
Â
Ramsey averaged an RBI per hit and saw the number four appear four times in the stat sheet. The Gulfport native registered four hits, four ribbies, four runs scored and four walks plus the team's only four-bagger, a solo shot in the club's win over Texas Southern.
