GREENWOOD, Ind. – Alcorn Football student-athletes Macarius Blount, Noah Kiani and Mikail Webb have each been named to the College Sports Communicators All-District Football Team, announced this week from the office's headquarters in Greenwood, Indiana.

The 2022 Academic All-District® Football Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Macarius Blount, a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back from Phoenix, Arizona, was a steady force for the Braves defensive backfield throughout the 2022 season. The Pima Community College product played in nine games for the Purple and Gold, tallying 23 tackles (13 solo, 10 assisted), as well as a pair of stops behind the line of scrimmage. He added two pass deflections across the campaign as well. He posted his best game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff with six stops (four assisted) and a pass breakup in the win over the Golden Lions. Away from the playing field, Blount is working towards a degree in Biology (Health Science) while being an active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He was a Dean's List member in Spring 2020 and Fall 2021, respectively, while earning Presidential Scholar honors in Spring 2021.

Noah Kiani is a 5-foot-11, 145-pound kicker from New Brighton, Minnesota. This past season, Kiani was forced into the punting and placekicking duties for the Braves, having never previously punted collegiately. The Irondale High alum finished the 2022 season ranked second in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) in field goals made with 14, including three (3) from 40 yards or longer. He ended the campaign seventh in the league in scoring (66 points), while also finishing the year averaging 33 yards per punt – including a long of 63 yards against Texas Southern. In the classroom, Kiani is a Business Administration major that has earned the title of Presidential Scholar in Fall 2021 and Spring 2022, respectfully. In Fall 2022, Kiani was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Mikail Webb is a 6-foot, 230-pound linebacker from Cleveland, Mississippi. As a graduate of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Columbia High School, Webb was active in the opposition's offensive backfield across the 2022 season for the Braves defense. He finished the year with 29 total tackles (15 solo), while registering seven tackles for loss. That total number includes 2.5 quarterback sacks. He would also tally a pass breakup, a quarterback hurry, and a forced fumble on the year – the latter coming at Mississippi Valley State close to his hometown in the Mississippi Delta region of the "Magnolia State". Working towards his master's degree in Agriculture/Agriculture Economics, Webb has been a member of the Dean's List in each of the following semesters: Spring 2018, Spring 2019, Spring 2020, Fall 2020 and Spring 2021. He was a Presidential Scholar in the fall of 2021, and is an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
