LORMAN, Miss. –Alcorn State University quarterback
Aaron Allen was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Offensive Player of the Week and kicker
Noah Kiani was named Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Specialist of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Allen was 32-of-46 for 370 yards with two touchdown passes in the Braves 23-20 overtime win against Alabama State on this past Saturday. The Missouri City, Texas native led the Braves on an 89-yard drive with 3:39 remaining in the game for ASU to get in range for the game-tying field goal. Allen is currently ranked 12
th in the FCS in completion percentage and 2
nd in the conference.
Kiani was 3-of-4 on field goals including both the game-tying field goal and the game winner in overtime. The New Brighton, Minnesota native is currently 7-of-9 on field goals and 9-of-9 on extra points through the first five games of the season.
Alcorn State hosts Grambling State on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at Spinks-Casem Stadium for Homecoming!
