Game Preview: Alcorn State vs Grambling State

LORMAN, Miss. – The Alcorn State Braves (2-3, 1-1) welcome Grambling State (3-2, 2-0) for a conference match-up inside Spinks-Casem Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 7th for the annual homecoming celebration. Kick-off set for 2:30 p.m. 
 
The game will be broadcasted live on ESPN+. Grambling State leads the series with Alcorn 8-4 dating back to when the teams faced off in 2012.

The Braves tallied 428 total yards led by 370 passing yards by Aaron Allen who also had two passing touchdowns. Jarveon Howard had five carries with 24 yards and Allen rushed for 36-yards on six carries. Monterio Hunt was the Braves leading receiver with six catches for 109-yards and a score. Malik Rodgers, Tavarious Griffin and Howard all had five catches, respectively.

Defense Braves, Defense
The Braves defense was led by Stemarion Edwards who finished with 13 tackles, followed by Terreance Ellis who finished with eight tackles. ASU dropped three spots to number four in the country in passes intercepted with seven. Robert McDaniel currently leads the team in interceptions followed by five other Braves with one. The Brave's defense is also ranked fourth in the country in turnover margin averaging 1.6 per game.
 
Be Special
Caleb Darbone had five punts for 217 yards with an average of 43.4 yards per punt. Noah Kiana put nine points on the board for the Braves going 3-of-4 on field goals connecting on a 24-yard field goal to end regulation and also scored the lone points in overtime securing the win for the Braves.
