LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn State University softball hosted Southern University in a three-game series over Easter weekend. The Lady Braves went 1-2 against the Lady Jaguars dropping the first two games, 4-8, 2-10, and winning the final game, 6-5.
Game One
    In Friday's single game, Alcorn scored four runs on 11 hits while committing two errors.
Kristian Edwards finished with three hits and an RBI.
Genise Wells had a hit and a run batted in.
Kelsey Lockridge ended the day with a hit and an RBI while
Kiri Parker finished two hits and a run batted in.
    Southern finished the game with eight runs and 10 hits while committing three errors. Asia George had a hit, a run, and batted two in. Sydney Wesley finished with a run, a hit, and an RBI. Alainah Felton had two runs, and a run batted in. Makyia Taylor had a hit and two RBI.
    Sam Liebenthal picked up the win as she pitched 5.2 innings allowing 10 hits, four earned runs, three walks, three strikeouts, and faced 30 batters.
    Parker suffered the lost for Alcorn with a complete game pitched allowing 10 hits, eight runs (four earned), two walks, four strikeouts, and faced 34 batters.
Game Two
    In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, the Lady Braves scored two runs on seven hits while committing an error. Parker finished the game with two hits, a run, and batted in Wells on a home run.
    The Lady Jaguars scored 10 runs on seven hits with no errors. Bailey Rocque had a run and two RBI. George finished with three hits, a run, and an RBI. Keira Miracle-Tilford finished the game with a hit, and an RBI. Jaeslyn Frazier had a run and batted one in. Kira Johnson finished with a hit and an RBI.
    Jordyn Jennings picked up the win for SU with a complete game pitched allowing seven hits, two earned runs, two walks, three strikeouts, and faced 30 batters.

Ta'Niyah Fletcher suffered the loss for Alcorn as she faced 19 batters and allowed two this, six runs (five earned), 10 walks, two strikeouts, and four wild pitches.
Game Three
    ASU fought hard and snapped up the victory in the second game of the doubleheader to close out the series. The Lady Braves scored six runs on nine hits while committing two errors.
    Wells had two hits, a run, and an RBI.
Alonah Felton finished the game with one hit and two RBI. Jamyiyah Cotton had a hit, a run, and a run batted in.
    The Lady Jaguars scored five runs on nine hits while committing an error. George had two hits and a run batted in. Ogden finished the game with two hits, a run, and an RBI. Alana Mark had two hits and two runs batted in.

Ashanti Carter snagged the win for Alcorn with five innings pitched allowing five hits, three runs (two earned), four walks, two strikeouts, a wild pitch, and faced 22 batters.
    Anabella Valadez suffered the loss for SU with 1.1 innings pitched allowing five hits, four runs (three earned), and nine batters faced.
    Alcorn will hit the diamond again March 5-6 in Houston, Texas as they face Texas Southern University. First pitch for the single game on Friday, March 5 is at 3 p.m. The times for the doubleheader on Saturday, March 6 at noon and 2 p.m.
