NEW ORLEANS, La. – Head Coach Stas Smirnov and the Alcorn State University men's tennis team competed in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Championships from April 19-20 in New Orleans, La. The Braves snatched a victory over No. 6 Southern University, 4-0, and dropped their match with No. 1 Alabama State University, 0-5.

Southern Match
David Leon and Luka Andonov played at No. 2 double and won their match against SU's Jaiden Dominguez and Gabriel Inyang, 6-0. At No. 3 double, Noah Kiani and Yangho Park won by default.

At No. 4 single, Andonov defeated Jaiden Dominguez, 6-0. Park and Kiani played at No.5 and No. 6 single, respectively, and won their matches by default.

Alabama State Match
At No. 2 doubles, Leon and Andonov were defeated by Matis Amier and Alexandre Verlaguet, 3-6. Park and Kiani played at No. 3 doubles and were defeated by Lun Obrul and Matteo Lataste, 1-6.

At No. 2 single, Cottle fells to Sam Bajracharya, 2-6 and 1-6. In the No. 4 single spot, Andonov was defeated by Verlaguet, 3-6 and 0-6. Park played at No. 5 single and dropped the match to Obrul, 1-6 and 1-6. Kiani was at No. 6 single and was defeated by Lataste, 0-6 and 0-6.
