LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn State football earned its first victory of the 2025 campaign with a commanding 42-0 shutout over Lincoln (CA) Saturday afternoon at Jack Spinks-Marino Casem Stadium. The Braves controlled the game from start to finish, rolling up 518 yards of total offense while holding the visiting Oaklanders to just 192.
Alcorn wasted little time setting the tone as Jacorian Sewell broke free for a 99-yard touchdown run on the Braves' first drive. Moments later, Reggie Davis added to the highlight reel with a 92-yard scoring burst to make it 14-0 just five minutes into the contest.
Quarterback Jaylon Tolbert connected with Omarion Blakes on a three-yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter, sending the Braves to halftime with a 21-0 advantage.
The offense continued to fire in the third quarter as Sewell struck again on a 55-yard touchdown run, followed by Tolbert's 38-yard touchdown strike to Tyran Warren. Tylon Citizen capped the scoring with a two-yard touchdown rush to make it 42-0 midway through the third.
Sewell led all rushers with 177 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, while Davis added 139 yards and one score on six attempts. Tolbert was sharp through the air, completing 11 of 13 passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns.
On defense, the Braves were relentless, recording six sacks and 10 tackles for loss. TB Hinton led the charge with six tackles and a sack, while Eric Thomas Jr., Cedric Roberts, and Dillon Crowell each added sacks. The Alcorn defense limited Lincoln to negative 21 rushing yards and kept the visitors out of the end zone for the full 60 minutes.
With the victory, Alcorn improves to 1-5 overall. The Braves will look to carry this momentum into next week as they travel to Tallahassee to face Florida A&M.
