Lorman, Miss. - It's another busy week on the Reservation as Alcorn State Athletics prepares for a packed slate of home and away action featuring volleyball, basketball, and football.
Volleyball Returns Home
The Lady Braves volleyball team returns to the Davey L. Whitney Complex this week for their final home stretch of the season. Coming off a hard-fought weekend of SWAC play, Alcorn looks to finish strong in front of their home crowd as they take on league opponents with postseason positioning on the line.
Women's Basketball Continues Early Season Slate
The Lady Braves basketball team remains on the road early this week before returning home to continue non conference play. Head coach Nate Kilbert's group has shown balance and poise to open the season, led by standout forward Nakia Cheatham, who's averaging over 20 points per game through the first two contests.
Men's Basketball Faces Road Tests
Alcorn State men's basketball continues its early-season stretch against high-level competition. Under first-year head coach Jake Morton, the Braves have battled through a challenging schedule that includes road match ups against nationally recognized programs. Guard Shane Lancaster has provided a spark, averaging double figures and shooting 60 percent from three-point range to start the season.
Football Hosts Grambling for Senior Night
Alcorn State football will close out its 2025 home schedule on Saturday, November 15, when the Braves host Grambling State for Senior Night at Jack Spinks – Marino Casem Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. The evening will celebrate the program's senior class for their leadership and dedication to Braves football. Quarterback Jaylon Tolbert and running back Reggie Davis continue to pace the Alcorn offense heading into the home finale.
