HAMMOND, LA – Alcorn State softball was held scoreless in both games of a non-conference doubleheader against Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday afternoon at North Oak Park. The Lady Braves (10-28) dropped the opener 8-0 in five innings before falling 8-0 again in six innings in the second game.
The host Lady Lions (43-11) used dominant pitching and opportunistic offense to take both games by run-rule.
In game one, Southeastern scored in three of the five innings, using a three-run first and a three-run third to build separation. The Lady Braves managed four hits but were unable to capitalize on their limited baserunners.
Game two followed a similar script, as Southeastern struck for three runs in the first and added a four-run burst in the fourth. Alcorn totaled just two hits in the nightcap and committed two defensive errors across the twin bill.
