About the A-Club
In the year of 1990 when Davis Weathersby completed his coaching and teaching career, he contacted former Alcorn State University athletes with the idea of organizing the Alcorn State University Letterman Club, and the name would be the A-Club. The purpose of the A-Club is to promote the welfare of athletics at the University. From 1991 to 1993 athletes met and discussed plans to organize the A-Club. It was decided to contact other universities that had established programs and get their by-laws and constitutions to use as a guide. All of the officers of the A-Club Alumni Association and the Board of Director are separately charged with the primary duty of promoting the best interests of Alcorn State University, the A-Club Alumni and the Alcorn State University Alumni Association.
