LORMAN, Miss. – Alcorn State University Football released its 2026 schedule on Tuesday, February 3, with the Braves set to play an 11-game slate, including four home games at Jack Spinks – Marino Casem Stadium in Lorman, Mississippi. All kickoff times are Central Standard Time (CST).
 
Under the direction of Head Coach Cedric Thomas, set to begin his third year at the helm of the Braves program, Alcorn finished the 2025 campaign sporting a record of 5-7 overall, winning four of its last five games to turn in a 4-4 mark in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play.
 
The Braves begin the 2026 season away to the University of Southern Mississippi (September 5). This marks the first meeting between the two teams since 2023, and just the fourth meeting all-time dating back to 2009. The following weekend, Alcorn takes part in the 37th Southern Heritage Classic, marking the second time in as many seasons the Braves have traveled to Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. Once there, Alcorn faces SWAC opponent Arkansas-Pine Bluff (September 12) for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
 
The Purple and Gold conclude the month of September with the home opener versus Texas Southern (September 26) for High School Day at Jack Spinks – Marino Casem Stadium. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
 
October begins with a visit to Grambling State (October 3), followed by the much-anticipated Alcorn State University Homecoming 2K26 contest against Arkansas Baptist (October 10). The game will also serve as the Breast Cancer Awareness game, with kickoff for that contest against the Bulls slated for 2 p.m.
 
The Braves visit defending SWAC Champion and Celebration Bowl runners-up Prairie View A&M (October 17) in Prairie View, Texas, before ASU enjoys a bye week (October 24) heading into the back end of the calendar.
 
A visit to league and in-state opponent Mississippi Valley State (October 31) takes place on Halloween in Itta Bena when the Purple and Gold travel to the Delta region of the "Magnolia State".
 
The Florida A&M Rattlers (November 7) descend upon Lorman for the first time in recorded history for "Military & Service Workers Day", as the two historic programs battle it out for just the second time ever as SWAC opponents. Last year, the Rattlers claimed a thrilling 33-28 decision on a FAMU homecoming weekend in Tallahassee, Florida, in what was the first meeting between the two sides since 1982, respectfully.
 
Alcorn visits Southern University (November 14) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the final SWAC Western Division showdown of the campaign, before concluding the year against in-state opponent and defending SWAC Eastern Division champion Jackson State (November 21) at Jack Spinks – Marino Casem Stadium for ASU "Senior Appreciation Day" at 2 p.m.
 
The 2026 edition of the SWAC Football Championship is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, with an on-campus SWAC stadium serving as the host of the event.
