JACKSON, Miss. –
Olivia Miller had two hits Sunday evening as Alcorn Softball dropped a 16-6 decision to Dallas Christian in the final game of the 2026 edition of the River City Classic hosted by Jackson State at JSU Softball Field in Jackson, Mississippi.

Alcorn (1-3) trailed 8-0 heading into the bottom of the second inning before the Braves plated five runs to get right back into the contest.

Back-to-back errors by the Dallas Christian infield allowed a pair of Braves runs to score with two outs as
Karmen Bernard,
Olivia Miller and
Chiara Olison crossed safely for the Braves to get within 8-4.
Ka'Miya Dillon delivered a run-scoring groundout to third earlier in the at-bat that drove in
Se'Marai Smith for Alcorn's first run of the game.

Miller, a junior from Kokomo, Mississippi, registered a 2-for-4 evening at the plate with a pair of runs driven in. Braves third baseman Smith was 1-for-1 with a run scored.

Dallas Christian starting pitcher Kayla Looper grabbed the win in the circle, throwing six innings, allowing six runs on five hits, five walks and two strikeouts. The loss went to Alcorn's Olison (1-2) who was hit for eight runs on eight hits and a strikeout in just two innings of action.

Three different Dallas Christian players had three hits in the game, including Laila Robins with a 3-for-5 effort, adding five RBIs and scoring twice on her own.

Alcorn returns to action Friday, Feb. 13, when the Braves travel to Covington, Georgia, where the Purple and Gold will play five game across the weekend – four of those coming against Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) opponents.
